pratt institute
Inspired by the bracelet my mom wore when I was a child, this project consists of over fifty coiled forms hanging, covering six feet of vertical space. The piece is highlighted by its shadows, and reflection of light on the steel wire forms, which accentuate the sense of space. The piece mesmerizes the viewer with subtle movements and glimmering light, creating a sense of calm. The memory arises of the comfort of my mother's presence, and the sense of security a parent provides.
