Quarter Haus is a sustainably made birdhouse designed specifically with the American Goldfinch in mind!
Ideation and sketch models
A limited list of sustainable materials was provided in the design brief, this was challenging but led to a successful result.
This birdhouse is designed to be produced as a flat shipped product which would fit in a 12x10x1in box, with an inner packaging including product information and assembly instructions.
Made with cedar shingles, waxed canvas, and dowels. The American Goldfinch prefers a 1.5 inch diameter hole, and a cupped shape, which is why the curved side wall was chosen.
